Architecture has been something of an obsession in contemporary art for decades. Back in 1981, the now defunct Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art mounted a citywide exhibition, “Architectural Sculpture,” which was both a barometer and a harbinger of the intersection of art and architecture.
